Initial situation

Technical trade forms the backbone of German industry. Whether it’s the automotive sector, mechanical and plant engineering, or any other manufacturing industry, they all depend on the quality and availability of technical trade for their procurement. Whether rolling bearings, hoses, seals or protective clothing – this sector covers the daily requirements for operating materials for industry, trade, crafts and public-sector users. It thus represents the effective and indispensable interface between the manufacturing industry and professional users on site, providing more than 1,000,000 articles for all requirements from stock.

In this context, technical dealers, as specialists in procurement, warehousing and distribution, are constantly facing new challenges. Especially in terms of process quality and efficiency. To counter these in the best possible way, the oneIDentity+ service platform offers an important component for maintaining and expanding competitive advantages.

By using products that are already clearly labeled by the manufacturer, the company’s own processes can be optimized. Speeding up incoming goods processes, protecting your own goods flows against counterfeiting, or identifying unjustified returns are just some of the many potential benefits that can be exploited by scanning the more than 2.5 billion product codes in the oneIDentity+ service platform. And all this without the retailers having to mark a single product themselves.

But of course, the company’s own labeling of manufactured products also offers opportunities for optimization. In this way, specific product information can be made available to the customer without barriers. By using the oneIDentity+ service platform, retailers can differentiate themselves from the competition and implement digital services tailored to their customers. An advantage for the entire value chain.

Partner & Network

WBA stands for World Bearing Association – it is the association of the world’s leading bearing manufacturers founded in 2006. The WBA is a non-profit, unincorporated industry association that promotes common and legitimate interests of the bearing industry such as environmental protection and anti-counterfeiting. With this joint initiative, the participating companies such as Koyo, Nachi, NSK, NTN, Schaeffler, SKF and Timken want to fight product piracy. They hope to educate the industry and its customers on how to identify counterfeit bearings, buy safely and involve the appropriate law enforcement agencies to prevent counterfeiting. A good introduction about the background and goals of the World Bearing Association is given in the following video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBHgzTY3Onc
